Introduction

Hello, everyone!

My name is Kelsie.

I am a recently married 21 year-old who is about to get a baby pug!

I'm majoring in Health and Wellness and I'm obsessed with all things fitness, food, and interior decor.

Here are my thoughts about the relaxation exercise:

It was more informative than I expected

It was more effective than I expected

It was less "cheesy" than I expected.

In other words, it exceeded expectations. You know what I'm sayin'?

I loved when he told me to feel the blood flowing from my core to my arms and hands. I have notoriously poor circulation (meaning my hands and feet are always cold), and yet, as I followed along, I found my hands and arms feeling warm!

It's a Christmas miracle!

I wish I could have become fully invested in this exercise, but alas, I listened to it while in a house full of my lovely relatives. Fun, but not necessarily relaxing.

Next time: must do this before going to bed.

Score one for improving circulation!

Peace out, y'all.

  1. Hello Kelsie!

I am majoring in Health & Wellness as well. What made you decide to get your degree online rather than on a campus? Just curious, I think you are the youngest classmate I have had thus far. :D I am 28, single, and I have a 4 year old daughter, Mallory Hope.

I went to college on campus in the city that I live in for two years after high school, then I got my first "real" job at a Hyundai car dealership LOL...I was a nanny to a little boy for 4 1/2 years since I was 15 and Matthew was 6 months old so I never needed anything else until his family moved to the beach a few months prior to my job at the dealership. In those two years of college I changed my major 4 times then I was like "okay, you really have no idea what in the world you want to do!!". So I took a hiatus, with every intention of going back to school when I figured out what it is I wanted to do. I then went to Liberty University Online when I was 23 for a year and a half and in that time I had my daughter and went on hiatus again about 6 months after she was born. She is now almost 4 and 1/2 years old and she sits next to me as I do my schoolwork and asks me a gazillion questions about the work I am doing (I think I should get quiz points in my classes haha), so we are still spending quality time together even when I am doing my schoolwork. She loves seminars but is disappointed that she can't have a microphone and talk to y'all! :)

Congrats on your marriage! && baby pug AWWWWWWWWWWWWW! So cute!! I have a blonde husky mix (she is much smaller than a normal husky) named Roxy. My daughter has been begging for a kitten, and has started filling up Roxy's food and water bowl every evening so she may just get a kitten for being so responsible with our dog.

I have poor circulation as well, totally sucks sometimes right? I am right there with you on the relaxation exercise. I always go into something hoping it is going to be great and work, then most of the time it doesn't...so I was pretty amazed at the results. Everything he said worked! Luckily my nephew was here to occupy my daughter for those 15 minutes so I could do the exercise fully without interruptions (which was a miracle with a 3 y.o. and 4 y.o. in the house! haha). This first exercise definitely has me looking forward to what other exercises we may participate in!!

Have you ever done other relaxation techniques or anything like this before?

Sorry my post is so long! I like to talk if it isn't obvious, at least in written form you can skip to the bottom if you don't want to read it all opposed to me standing around talking your ear off! :)

  2. Hey Robin!

You DO like to talk! Haha, but I love getting long comments and seeing that you actually read my post.

We have a really similar experience! I went to Kansas University for a year and changed my major 3 times, then transferred to a school in Chicago to study musical theater, then came home and decided to try Kaplan. I think the only reason I tried Kaplan was because they have a "free trial period," but I ended up loving it! I never thought I would like online school.

We are so excited about our pug! We are both pug-lovers and cannot WAIT to be a "mommy" and "daddy." Your daughter sounds adorable and very eager to learn! Maybe someday she'll do online school as well. :)

In one of my other classes (I can't remember which), we did a lot of relaxation techniques! I found those ones cheesy, though, and often had trouble focusing on them. I liked this one a lot more! My favorite relaxation technique is to turn on music and lie or sit there while listening, with my eyes closed. I feel like it keeps my brain active so I don't get bored or antsy.

Can't wait to have class with you!!
